Dominican Republic Vacation |
|
June 11, 1999 This is the first day we arrived in the Dominican Republic. Renez and I left from Jacksonville, Fl in a rented car at 4 am. To catch a 10am flight in Miami. A hint to you, don't do it. Don't drive unless you have to. Luckily the drive back wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. The "Eight-Bottle Night", was two days before we left, so we didn't drink that much after that. Jeff and Johnnie flew down from NYC, NY. And we arrived at approximately 1pm. This first picture is us right after we check in at the hotel. The hotel we stayed at was Heavens resort in Playa Dorada, Dominican Republic. This was our first experience with an all-inclusive club (You'll hear more about this later). (from left to right: Jeff, Marcos (me), Renez, and Johnnie)
Evening Later on that evening after a few too many rum and cokes (damn all- inclusive plans), we meet some of our good friends Russ and Caroline from England who are with us for the duration of the trip. I guess those quite embarrassing stage shows are good for something. Little did they know what they were in for, or consequently what their livers where in for.
(L to R: Jeff, Johnnie, Russ, Caroline, a Canadian friend, his Dominican wife, Me and Renez) Then after a few more of those rum and cokes, we decide to take a swim in the Caribbean fully clothed. You'll hear me say it again and again. Damn all-inclusive plan.
Needless to say our first day was quite successful. We met good people from around the world. Made the resort lose money on all-inclusive pricing. But we came in with a purpose, I knew that it was costing us $43 us dollars a day to stay there. It was my full intention to drink every bit of that $43 each and every day. And I'm happy to say (even if my livers not), that I succeeded. |
