Dominican Republic Vacation |
| Day 7-10: Sosua We finally arrived at our final destination in Sosua. And what can I say, but the hotel was amazing, as well as the city. The hotel is situated on the cliffs overlooking the whole lagoon and the beach. We stayed in a little villa with a huge balcony upstairs, and a living room, and small kitchen. While downstairs there are two air-conditioned bedrooms, and separate bathrooms. All for under $60 a night. Which is a good thing, because that just means we have more money to spend on beer and rum. Hey, I have my priorities straight in life. Also the town of Sosua has a very European feel. There are English pubs, and almost all the restaurants sell German beer. In fact, quite a few of the local businesses have been bought and are now run by ex-patriate Germans. As well as a smattering of Canadians and the British. So, if you're on certain streets in this town, you might be able to imagine you were in Europe. There used to be quite a large Jewish population here, but many of them moved back after the creation of the Jewish state.
